New Song: The Man's a Gem and so's His Wife

click on the following link to access the first song to emerge from the studio as work on album 2 finishes. I think it sounds pretty good. summer is slow because of restaurant work, but sometime this Fall, from the far reaches of Rome, Italy, I'll be broadcasting info on the whole platter. -Clem

Kitchen Table Recordings of America, Inc.

we are recording this record at the studio of our bass player Dana Monteith. He's a master knob-twiddler whose background includes Jam band life in the underground monster Jam combo The Ominous Seapods as well as a solo career in the sun-blasted cult of Country Rockers and Americana fiends.
Housed in Rensellaerville, NY, Dana's Kitchen Table Recordings of America Inc. is a beautiful place full of noise capturing faded arches and dusty post-war microphones.

Visit his page and send Dana a message if you'd like to plan your own session.

From Richard Gehr in The Village Voice:

White-trash drinking music doesn't get much downer and dirtier than this self-characterized "glam country" combo from Cherry Valley, New York. Last year's Dirty Little Millionaire celebrated truck-stop truths and roadhouse romance with tobacco-stained fingers and bourbon breath. The current lineup includes at least one member of the late, lamented Ominous Seapods.

King Vidor on eMusic

If you don't know about eMusic, it's one of the best subscription based music stores on the internet. For 20 bucks a month you get 75 downloads, and while it doesn't have everything, it has a lot of great old and new music. King Vidor's debut album Dirty Little Millionaire is now available on eMusic. Also, I think there's a joining bonus so you can get our record and dozens of more songs for pennies on your first month. Look for lots of great old country and jazz catalogs, plus some classic indie rock labels too.

As you can see, we’ve added a Snocap Song Store

from which you can purchase all or some of our album DIRTY LITTLE MILLIONAIRE.

as an added bonus, we’ve included 5 trax from the pre-King Vidor project WILDLIFE, it’s sole album, the impossibly rare A SKY-BLUE TAPE HISS.
these are the first 5 tracks in the store:

Be Mine, My Friends, Breakfast at Kingdom Come, Darker Matters, and City of Bones (acoustic version) were all recorded in the right dining room of the Rose and Kettle and the old Cramer and Cramer Law Office at the Cherry Valley Masonic Hall.

SHINDIG #1

There's a bunch of stuff on this clip, notably Sam Cooke covering "Blowin' in the Wind." This is the song that inspired Cooke to write "A Change is Gonna Come," and all of this (including the performance here) happens in the year Sam Cooke will die by gun shot wound in LA.

The clip includes The Righteous Bros., The Everly Bros., and Bobby Sherman, and it ends with The Everly's and Sam Cooke singing Lucille.
